  • Sorry, we can’t connect you to our network because our Bombay Water Treatment Plant is at capacity and we are not planning to expand it.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect you to our network because our Muriwai Water Treatment Plant is at capacity, and we are not planning to expand it.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect you to our network as the local wastewater treatment plant is at capacity and we are not planning to expand it.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect you to our water supply as our Waiuku Water Treatment Plant is at full capacity. We expect to resolve this issue between 2025 and 2030, when a new water treatment plant is completed. There are also limitations at the Waiuku Wastewater Treatment Plant. We are still considering our options for servicing the south-west region’s wastewater in the future. Learn more here.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect your development at this time because there is limited capacity in the local water network and at the wastewater treatment plant. Please see our website to learn more about our plans for Waiwera’s water and wastewater servicing.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect your development at this time because there is no capacity in the local water treatment plant or wastewater treatment plant. New resource consents granted will have conditions that confirm no connection can be made until a new water treatment plant is built and the wastewater treatment plant has been upgraded. Learn more about this here.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect you to our network right now because the local wastewater treatment plant is at capacity. In the future, we intend to divert Kingseat’s wastewater to a different wastewater treatment plant as part of the southwest wastewater servicing scheme. This is expected to happen between 2030 and 2035.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect your development at this time as there is no capacity at the Helensville Water Treatment Plant. We plan to upgrade the treatment plant between 2025 and 2030.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect your development right now as our Beachlands Wastewater Treatment Plant is at capacity. We will be upgrading the treatment plant to increase its capacity between now and 2030.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect your development right now as our Clarks Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant is at capacity. We are currently upgrading it to enhance its treatment capability and increase its capacity. We expect to complete this upgrade in June 2026. This does not apply to Clarks Beach Waterfront Estate or to Kahawai Point development as these areas are serviced by interim wastewater schemes.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect your development right now because our Warkworth Wastewater Treatment Plant is at capacity. However, you won’t have to wait too long. We are currently building new infrastructure that will see Warkworth’s wastewater treated at a new treatment plant in Snells Beach. This new wastewater servicing scheme is expected to be operational in mid to late 2025. You can learn more here.

  • Need more questions about resource consent/building consent (ie, if you already have building consent, you can connect. If you have resource consent granted before 22 April 2024, you can connect. We are currently building new infrastructure that will see Warkworth’s wastewater treated at a new treatment plant in Snells Beach. This new wastewater servicing scheme is expected to be operational in mid to late 2025. Any new resource consents granted in the meantime will have a condition that means no connection can be made to our wastewater services until our new Warkworth wastewater scheme is operational. You can learn more here.

  • Sorry, we can’t guarantee a wastewater connection for your development right now, as the Army Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant has limited capacity and needs to be upgraded. While an upgrade is scheduled to be completed in 2031, we hope to deliver an alternative upgrade earlier. If you apply for a resource consent and it is granted, it will have a condition that means no connection can be made to our wastewater services until the Army Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant has been upgraded to increase its capacity. You can learn more here.

  • Sorry, we can’t connect you to our network right now because the downstream wastewater network is at capacity. We are planning several projects that will enable growth in Paerata, including a new pump station and rising main. We expect to complete these between 2028 and 2032.

We are planning a project that will enable growth north of the Mahurangi River, however the timing is not yet confirmed. You can learn more here. This does not apply to Warkworth Ridge as this area is serviced by an interim wastewater scheme.

  • Good news! As you have an issued resource consent, we will not decline an application to connect to our networks based on the bulk capacity of our infrastructure.

  • Good news. If your resource consent was granted before 10 September 2024, we will connect you to our services.

  • You can proceed with your development as long as there is capacity in the local network pipes. You will need to assess the impact of your proposed development as part of your resource consent process. If a network limitation is identified, you may need to upgrade the local network. See our consents page to understand the key steps in the resource consent process.

  • Right now we have capacity to connect another 4000 homes to our Army Bay Treatment Plant. However, as we believe the number of existing resource consents outnumbers the capacity at the treatment plant, your ability to connect will depend on the capacity at the plant when you are ready to build. Please email us at networkcapacity@water.co.nz so we can set clear expectations. We will be updating this page on our website every six months with the latest capacity information.

  • We will need to review your proposed development in more detail, looking at the exact location and impact.

Please provide the extra information in the form below, and one of our team will be in touch.

  • Please get in touch with us to get an understanding of the remaining capacity at the treatment plant. We’ll be assessing these applications to connect on a case-by-case basis as we keep a close eye on the plant’s capacity.

Please provide the extra information in the form below, and one of our team will be in touch.

  • If you are wanting to develop in an area that is not listed above and noted on our network capacity map, you can follow the normal process. Learn more here on our website.
